Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the questions most often asked by parents. We know choosing baby formula can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help make it easier with clear answers and guidance you can trust.

About HiPP Goat PRE

Which version of HiPP formula do you sell?

We only sell the German HiPP version of HiPP formulas.

Good to know:
HiPP products are available in different country versions (such as German, Dutch, or UK versions), mainly due to different local labeling and packaging requirements. However, all HiPP formulas are made under the same strict EU organic standards and regulatory controls, ensuring consistent safety, ingredient quality, and organic certification across all markets.

Important: All HiPP formulas are produced in the same manufacturing sites in Germany, and all production follows the same high-quality EU organic certification system and controls, regardless of whether the product is sold as the German, Dutch, or UK version.

Do HiPP formulas contain corn syrup?

No, HiPP formulas do not contain corn syrup!

In fact, in the European Union, infant and toddler formulas are tightly regulated, and corn syrup (or corn syrup solids) is not permitted as a carbohydrate source in infant nutrition in the way it is commonly used in some US formulas.

Why is HiPP Goat Milk Formula ideal for sensitive tummies?

HiPP Goat Milk Formula contains A2 proteins, the same type found in breast milk. These proteins are easy to digest, making the formula naturally closer to breast milk. As a result, goat milk formula is gentle on sensitive tummies and closely resembles breast milk in taste, texture and digestibility.

Why is goat milk so easy to digest for babies?

Cow milk usually contains a mixture of A1 and A2 beta-casein, while breast milk contains only A2. HiPP Goat Milk naturally contains more A2 beta-casein than regular cow milk, making it closer to breast milk. A2 milk is scientifically associated with good tolerance and is often considered especially gentle on sensitive tummies. That's why many parents find goat milk to be similar to breast milk in terms of consistency, taste and tolerance.

Do the HiPP Goat Milk formulas contain starch?

All HiPP Goat Milk formulas are starch-free, making them extra gentle on your baby's tummy.

Why does HiPP Goat Milk have a PRE stage but no Stage 1?

In Germany, many Stage 1 formulas contain added starch to make the milk thicker and more filling. HiPP Goat Milk follows a different approach and does not contain added starch, making it naturally gentle and easy to digest. Because of this, there's no need for a separate Stage 1 formula.

My baby has a confirmed cow's milk allergy (CMPA). Can I feed goat formula instead?

When your baby has a confirmed cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA), goat milk formulas will most likely be no alternative. The structure of goat milk proteins is similar to cow milk proteins. Thus, goat milk can lead to the same allergic reactions. Most people with a cow's milk allergy also react to goat milk. However, goat milk formulas can be a good alternative when your baby has a mild cow's milk sensitivity or needs a gentler milk formula due to tummy troubles or colic issues.

If your baby has a confirmed or suspected cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA), always consult your pediatrician before switching formulas.

Can goat milk formula help reduce digestive issues and colic?

HiPP Goat formulas can be a gentle alternative for babies who struggle with colic, gas, or other digestive discomfort. Made with easy-to-digest goat milk proteins, these formulas are naturally softer on tiny tummies than traditional cow’s milk-based formulas. Goat milk has a naturally softer protein structure that is easier to digest, which may also help reduce fussiness and bloating in some babies.

Can HiPP Goat Milk Stage 2 be used as toddler milk?

Yes! HiPP Goat Milk Stage 2 can absolutely be used as toddler milk. Many parents continue using it as part of their toddler's daily diet, especially if their little one enjoys it and is doing well on it.

For a balanced breakfast, try serving it with muesli or cereal and add some chopped fruit or veggies for extra variety and nutrition. As your toddler grows, remember to offer a wide range of foods alongside milk to support a healthy, balanced diet.
